WHAT'S IN A NAME? WHY GUTZEES?
Some challenges we choose and others choose us.
Ten years ago, we met at a benefit for the League for the Hard of Hearing in New York City. Both our children as toddlers had profound hearing impairments. Denise's son Morgan became profoundly deaf after contracting spinal meningitis and Jacqui's daughter Rebecca was born completely deaf. Throughout the years, we have cried together, commiserated and worried about our children and their uncertain future. We also have watched them succeed beyond our greatest hopes and dreams to overcome many obstacles despite their disability. As our children grew up, our friendship grew stronger. Both of us and our families are extremely committed to the League for the Hard of Hearing and continue to support children and adults who are hearing impaired.
Now in our 50's, we decided to undertake a new challenge. We had a creative business idea and launched "Gutzees."
Our line consists of an array of fabulous gift and travel products. These products include lingerie bags, jewelry bags, shoe stuffers and eye masks, available in satin or mink. We have recently developed a division called Home Trends which consists of home organizational products such as Faux Croc and Lizard Shoe, Ankle, Accessory and Knee Hi Boot Boxes.
We named the company "Gutzees" in honor of all of life's past experiences. Gutzees represents support and strength not only in one's shoes, but also, on a larger scale of life, it symbolizes "Inner Strength" to meet life's many challenges and overcome them. One needs to be "Gutzee". We sincerely thank you for you support and hope you share in our enthusiasm.
We also thank our husband and older children for all their love and support!
